Hot stones are used to expand your blood vessels and relax your muscles. It is a deeper form of massage which relieves muscle tension and enhances the circulation, which further accelerates the healing process. Depending on the treatment and client this is used in conjunction with cold stones to stimulate the nervous system and increase the lymph flow of waste materials. It is said that one stroke of heated basalt stone is equivalent to five strokes of the therapists hand.
